Status change: COVID Exposure 31 October 2021
(Email sent to members on 4 November 2021)
Further to our earlier message on the COVID incident as the Club, we have received update advice from NSW Health regarding the recent Halloween event.
The advice for patrons who entered the Halloween Haunted House Community Event hosted at Thirroul Surf Club has been upgraded from casual to close. NSW Health have identified more than one positive case in attendance to that event. NSW health were unable to rely on consistent QR code check ins from this event and have had to include the event from start to finish, as we were unable to capture the exact times of exposure to the community.
For anybody who went inside the haunted house;
You are considered a close contact.
If you have been told you are a close contact of someone with COVID-19:
If you are fully vaccinated:
self-isolate for 7 days
get tested straight away and again on day 6
leave self-isolation after 7 days if your test on day 6 is negative, you feel well and you have had no further contact with a COVID-19 positive person
for the following 7 days, work from home if you can and do not attend a high-risk setting (healthcare, aged care, disability care, early childhood centres, primary school and correctional facilities) even if it is your place of work
get tested again on day 12.
If you are not fully vaccinated:
self-isolate for 14 days
get tested straight away, on day 6 and again on day 12
leave self-isolation after 14 days if your test on day 12 is negative, you feel well and you have had no further contact with a COVID-19 positive person.
If you have had COVID-19 in the past six months you will generally not be considered a close contact and you do not need to self-isolate or get a test unless you have symptoms.

For anybody who did not go inside the haunted house the health advice is unchanged and remains as casual.
If you are a casual contact of someone with COVID-19:
get tested for COVID-19 immediately and self-isolate until you get a negative result
get tested again on day 6 after your last contact with the COVID-19 positive person. If you feel well, you do not need to self-isolate while waiting for this test result
For more information on being a casual contact visit-
We continue to work with NSW Health in terms of assisting with contact tracing and the provision of any other relevant information to assist in this regard.
We will also continue to provide further key information as it comes to hand.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding as we work though this matter.
